What are dermal filler injections?

Dermal filler injections are a medical procedure in which a medically developed solution is injected under the skin with a fine needle to enhance facial features and plump and fill lines, grooves or sunken areas.

Administered correctly by a fully Qualified Practitioner, dermal fillers can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone the skin; restoring youthful plumpness and enhancing and defining your features.

Below are some examples of areas where dermal filler is regularly used…

Cheek

Naso-Labial Fold

Gummy Smile

Lip Filler

The lip is injected with a soft filler in order to counteract lost plumpness due to ageing or to enhance the natural size and shape of the lips.

This straightforward non-surgical procedure tackles issues such as “smokers lines”, wrinkled lips, and emphasising the cupids bow. This relatively simple and non-surgical procedure provides a quick enhancement that lasts several months.

Gummy Smile

If you have a low or uneven gum line, often described as a 'gummy smile' or 'gummy lip', or if your gum line is uneven, then gum sculpting can transform even the gummiest of smiles and help create a smile you've always dreamed of.

By reshaping of the gum we can restore the natural proportions of your teeth. There are two procedures used to achieve this, simple soft tissue gum sculpting for subtle but effective improvement or surgical lifting of the gum for more severe cases.

Oral Commissure

The commissure is the corner of the mouth, where the upper lip meets the lower lip. This is important in facial appearance, particularly during functions including smiling. Injections of dermal fillers can fill in the sagging skin around the mouth, creating a more uplifting appearance. It is also possible to treat the oral commissures through injecting a muscle relaxant, Botox®, into these areas.
